Austria and the EU, a complicated relationship

Austria’s relationship with the European Union has been complex, with the country often taking a critical stance on EU policies. Despite being a member since 1995, Austria has been vocal in its opposition to further EU integration, particularly on issues such as immigration and sovereignty.
