Mitch Marsh has been ruled out of Australia’s T20 World Cup opener against Ireland due to serious groin injuries, including internal testicular bleeding, sustained during practice. Steve Smith has been called up as cover, while Travis Head will captain the team in Marsh’s absence. Under ICC rules, injured players can be replaced but cannot return if they recover. Australia will bat first after winning the toss.
