Australia Sends Missiles and Surveillance Plane to UAE for Gulf Defense

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced that Australia will deploy a reconnaissance aircraft and air-to-air missiles to assist Gulf countries in defending against Iranian attacks. The deployment comes amid escalating conflict in the region, with Albanese emphasizing that the military assets are for defensive purposes only. The decision was met with criticism from the opposition Greens party, expressing concerns about Australia becoming involved in another US-led conflict. Additionally, Albania stated that Australia has granted asylum to five members of Iran’s women’s football team who were visiting for a tournament in Queensland.
