Australia to Begin Gun Buyback Program in November Following Bondi Attack

Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced a gun buyback scheme starting November 2 in New South Wales, aimed at reducing gun ownership following the December 14, 2025, Bondi Beach attack that left 15 dead. The initiative will also include stricter gun licence checks and measures against hate. The attack, carried out by a father-son duo, involved legally obtained firearms, prompting the state to limit individuals to four guns each.
