More than one million households and businesses have upgraded from copper to fibre connections since NBN Co’s announcement, significantly enhancing average broadband speeds, with nearly one-in-three premises now at 500 Mbps or faster. NBN Co reported a revenue increase to $2.94 billion and a reduced loss before tax of $350 million, aided by a $3 billion federal investment. The Fibre Connect program aims for completion by 2030, with significant uptake in regional areas. Active connections to the NBN now exceed 8.6 million, reflecting a 0.3% growth over the past year.
