At least 7 dead, multiple injured after gangway collapses on Georgia’s Sapelo Island

At least seven people have died and several others are seriously injured after a gangway collapsed at a landing dock on Sapelo Island off the coast of Georgia, with 20 people falling into the water. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources reported the tragic incident, which resulted in six critical injuries and two people being taken to hospitals by helicopter. Governor Brian Kemp expressed his sorrow over the incident and called for prayers for those affected, as emergency crews and authorities investigate the cause of the collapse at the Marsh Landing Dock.
