Bus accident in Guatemala: 15 dead, 19 injured

A bus travelling between Guatemala City and San Marcos crashed for unknown reasons, resulting in at least 15 deaths and 19 injuries. The accident occurred on the Inter-American Highway in western Guatemala, near the Solola Department, in an area known as “Alaska Peak” due to its rugged terrain and dense fog. The bus fell into a 75-meter deep ravine, prompting a rescue operation by local firefighters and a search for victims by their relatives. This tragic incident follows a similar bus crash earlier in the year that claimed over 50 lives in Guatemala City.
