A deadly car-ramming attack in New Orleans on New Year’s Day left 10 dead and 35 injured, with authorities investigating it as an act of terrorism involving a 42-year-old suspect named Shamsud-Din Jabbar. The suspect, who was killed in a shootout with law enforcement, was found with an explosive device and an ISIL flag in his vehicle. US leaders, including President Joe Biden and President-elect Donald Trump, condemned the violence, expressing sympathy for the victims and their families in the tourist-heavy French Quarter of New Orleans.
