Talks to end the war with Russia are set to begin — but Ukraine could pay a high price for peace

In an effort to end the war that has caused significant loss of life in Ukraine, U.S. President Donald Trump announced peace talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Trump stated that both leaders expressed a desire for peace and instructed officials to begin negotiations immediately. Trump highlighted a productive phone call with Putin, where they agreed to work together to stop the conflict and start negotiations, and also mentioned speaking with Zelenskyy who also expressed a commitment to making peace.
