Months of diplomatic efforts by US officials led to a prisoner exchange in Syria, resulting in the release of numerous detainees held in Damascus and Sweida. The deal involved the transfer of 61 detainees by Syrian security forces and the release of 25 individuals by the Druze National Guard.
