Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy is ready to close the Strait of Hormuz if instructed by senior leadership, according to Rear Adm. Alireza Tangsiri during naval exercises in the Persian Gulf. The drills temporarily halted maritime traffic, emphasizing the IRGC’s commitment to safeguarding the strait, vital for global oil exports.
