Qatar to give $430 million aid to Lebanon

Qatar will provide Lebanon with approximately $434 million in financial aid, primarily targeting the struggling energy sector, according to Qatar’s Fund for Development. The support includes around $400 million for energy, with a portion allocated as a grant, and aims to enhance the capacities of the Lebanese army and other sectors. Lebanon faces significant reconstruction costs following the 2024 conflict with Israel and Hezbollah, amid ongoing fuel shortages and infrastructure issues. Additionally, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey have urged Hezbollah to disarm to prevent further Israeli strikes.
