US President Donald Trump announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted an invitation to join his Board of Peace initiative for resolving global conflicts, a claim Putin quickly refuted, stating that the proposal is still under consideration by the Russian foreign ministry. During a press conference at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Trump confirmed the invitation after meeting NATO chief Mark Rutte. Putin indicated that the Board is primarily focused on Middle East peace and mentioned Russia’s willingness to contribute $1 billion from frozen assets.
