Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi issued a stark warning to the US in an opinion piece for The Wall Street Journal, emphasizing that Iran’s military would respond decisively to any attacks, unlike in June 2025. He blamed Israel for escalating tensions and claimed that the US was close to a diplomatic resolution in negotiations last May, which ultimately failed. Araghchi also dismissed claims of violence during recent protests, attributing unrest to foreign influence and media distortion. He insisted that Iran prefers peace and is open to serious negotiations but remains skeptical about US intentions.
