Protesters Storm Palestinian Authority Envoy’s Residence in Tehran

Hundreds of protesters attacked the Palestinian Authority ambassador Salam al-Zawawi’s residence in Tehran, chanting slogans and throwing Molotov cocktails, leading to injuries among the ambassador and embassy staff. The rioters, numbering around 200, forced entry, causing extensive damage and forcing the ambassador and her family to shelter in the basement until rescued by police. Al-Zawawi was hospitalized after being suffocated during the incident. She has served as ambassador since January 2022, following her father’s tenure.
