US President Donald Trump met with Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ahead of the GCC summit in Riyadh, a day after announcing the lifting of US sanctions on Syria.

Despite concerns about Syria’s ties to Al Qaeda, Trump was influenced by bin Salman and Turkish President Erdogan, who joined via video conference.

As Trump concluded his first day in the Gulf, marked by significant investments and arms deals with Saudi Arabia, he was set to visit Qatar for further discussions on US investments.
