Iran to Hold Nuclear Talks in Rome
Iran will engage in nuclear talks with Britain, France, and Germany in Rome on Friday, as stated by Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, aiming to improve strained relations ahead of a fourth round of discussions with the U.S. set for the weekend. Araqchi criticized the E3’s diminished role due to past policies but expressed readiness for dialogue, while Tehran proposed this meeting amid rising tensions regarding its nuclear program, which exceeds the 2015 agreement limits. With a UN resolution on the accord expiring soon, France warned of re-imposing sanctions if negotiations fail, while Iran’s UN representative urged a diplomatic approach free of threats.
