Iran, US to resume talks in Oman to narrow gaps over new nuclear deal

Top Iranian and US negotiators are set to meet in Muscat to negotiate a new deal aimed at curbing Iran’s advancing nuclear program, with US President Trump expressing optimism about reaching an agreement. While both sides are pursuing diplomacy, significant differences remain, particularly regarding Iran’s uranium enrichment and missile capabilities, with Iran maintaining that its enrichment program is non-negotiable. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has stated that any deal must require Iran to cease all uranium enrichment, amidst ongoing tensions and sanctions since the US withdrew from the 2015 nuclear pact.
