Arne Slot, the new coach of the Premier League champions, has long admired Pep Guardiola, often sharing his insights on Guardiola’s tactics during his early coaching days at Cambuur, as recalled by Henk de Jong. After progressing from assistant roles to head coach positions at AZ Alkmaar and Feyenoord, where he won the league title, Slot’s philosophy remains influenced by his experiences at Cambuur, emphasizing the importance of playing attractive football for dedicated fans. His upbringing in a small Dutch town and early exposure to coaching shaped his approach, blending traditional values with modern tactical awareness.
