A 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and endangering transport after allegedly spraying an Auckland bus driver with a fire extinguisher. The incident occurred on a 27H bus near Mt Eden Rd around 6pm on Tuesday, following a verbal altercation between the passenger and the driver. Passengers alerted the police and an ambulance, and the driver was taken to Auckland Hospital but has since returned home to recover. Detective Senior Sergeant Anthony Darvill confirmed the details of the incident.
