Armed police incident: Nelson’s Nayland Primary School and College in lockdown

Three Nelson schools—Nayland College, Nayland Primary School, and Broadgreen Intermediate—were placed on lockdown following a nearby armed police incident, but the lockdown has since been lifted. Police confirmed that a person was spoken to and that no further action is required. Nayland College principal Daniel Wilson indicated that a threat was made to the school and its students, prompting the security measures.
