iPhone owners may receive up to $95 each as part of a proposed $250 million settlement regarding allegations that Apple misled customers about Siri’s artificial intelligence features. A class action lawsuit filed in California claims that Apple falsely advertised “Enhanced Siri features” that were not available, influencing consumers’ decisions to purchase specific iPhone models. Approximately 37 million iPhone users who bought the iPhone 16, iPhone 15 Pro, or iPhone 15 Pro Max between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025, may be eligible for the settlement. If approved, this settlement could become one of the largest involving Apple. Customers will be informed about their eligibility to file claims via email or mail, with further details to be provided on a dedicated settlement website in the coming weeks.

Why It Matters

This case highlights the ongoing scrutiny of tech giants like Apple regarding their marketing practices and the accuracy of product claims. Historically, companies in the tech industry have faced legal challenges over misleading advertisements, which can lead to significant financial settlements. The proposed settlement reflects the increasing consumer awareness and legal actions surrounding deceptive marketing, particularly in the tech sector, where innovations often outpace consumer understanding. This settlement also underscores the importance of transparency in advertising, as companies are held accountable for the promises made about their products.
