Tulip Siddiq, economic secretary to the Treasury, referred herself to the ministerial standards adviser over allegations of involvement in a 2013 deal with Russia for a nuclear power plant in Bangladesh. Despite billions embezzled in the agreement, Siddiq denies any wrongdoing. PM Keir Starmer expressed confidence in her, stating she acted properly, as an investigation is underway to determine if further action is needed.
