AI company Anthropic has announced that it will transition its Claude Cowork agent to the cloud, enabling users to access it from multiple devices and allowing it to perform tasks offline. Previously, Cowork was limited to specific devices that needed to remain active for work to be completed, and users could not operate it across different devices with a single account. The cloud update will allow the scheduling of tasks, such as drafting emails, without requiring a device to be online, although user approval will still be necessary before finalizing actions. Beta access will be initially offered to users with Anthropic’s Max subscriptions, with plans to expand access in the coming weeks. To celebrate this launch, the company is also extending Cowork’s usage limits through August 5. Furthermore, Anthropic plans to integrate Claude chat and Cowork, providing them shared access to files.
