An estimated 100,000 join antigovernment rally in Serbia’s Belgrade

At least 100,000 people gathered in Belgrade for a mass rally against Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, organized by university students leading months-long protests. After sporadic clashes, students abruptly called for an end to the demonstration due to safety concerns, but tensions remained high as thousands stayed. The nationwide anti-corruption movement, sparked by a fatal train station collapse, has challenged Vucic’s power, with the largest rally in Serbia’s history prompting Vucic to accuse Western intelligence services of orchestrating the protests without providing evidence.
