Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a gathering on CISF Day in Ranipet district, emphasizing the importance of conducting CAPF exams in all languages of the Eighth Schedule. He urged Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to offer medical and engineering courses in Tamil, referencing previous initiatives in engineering education. Despite initial success, Tamil medium engineering courses faced declining enrollment, leading to a suspension that was later reversed. Efforts to introduce Tamil medium medical education in Tamil Nadu have been ongoing since 2010, with plans to translate textbooks and open new colleges pending Union approval.
