US military flies American released from Syrian prison to Jordan, officials say

The U.S. military has successfully rescued Travis Timmerman, an American who had been missing for seven months in Syria, from Assad’s prison system. Timmerman was transported to Jordan on a U.S. military helicopter and expressed a desire to remain in the region. Efforts continue to locate Austin Tice, an American journalist who disappeared 12 years ago near Damascus, with a recent false lead causing confusion in the search.
