Actors declining American Psycho remake due to comparison with Christian Bale

The upcoming remake of American Psycho, directed by Luca Guadagnino, is facing challenges in casting the lead role of Patrick Bateman, originally portrayed by Christian Bale. Author Bret Easton Ellis revealed on his podcast that several high-profile actors have declined the role, and a new script by Scott Z. Burns has been developed. Ellis emphasized that this adaptation will differ significantly from the 2000 film and will not resemble Bale’s version.
