Russian-born U.S. citizen Gene Spector, already imprisoned in Russia for bribery, has been given a second 15-year jail term for espionage by a Moscow court in August 2023. Spector, a former executive at a medical equipment company, was initially sentenced to 3.5 years in prison in September 2022 for involvement in bribes to an aide of former Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, with the aide receiving a 12-year sentence for accepting bribes of luxury vacations.
