The U.S. and Canada faced off in a tense hockey matchup with several fights erupting after boos during the national anthem. The Americans defeated Canada 3-1, but U.S. defenseman Zach Werenski criticized the booing, which has been linked to tensions over tariffs and jokes about Canada becoming the “51st state.” Despite the hostility, the U.S. team used the boos as motivation, with three fights breaking out in the first nine seconds and Jake Guentzel scoring twice to secure the win in front of a packed crowd at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
