A group of Amazon delivery drivers held a labor strike at the DAX7 Amazon Sortation Center in South Gate, leading to police involvement due to a hold up of Amazon vehicles. A regional director for the National Labor Relations Board stated that Amazon should be considered a “joint employer” of some contracted delivery drivers, finding that Amazon jointly employed drivers at the site who worked for a contractor called MJB Logistics. The NLRB’s determination could potentially lead Amazon to bargain with employees seeking to unionize, following similar rulings at other Amazon facilities.
