Albany Golf Club is preparing for the annual Wittenoom Cup Carnival, featuring a week of events culminating in a two-day competition. Over 2000 rounds of golf are expected, with around 220-240 players daily, contributing an estimated $1 million to the local economy. The main competitions, the Wittenoom Cup and Brenda Wittenoom Plate, will attract golfers from across WA, with last year’s champions seeking to defend their titles. Named after former club president Charles Wittenoom, the men’s competition began in 1927, with the women’s plate added in 2003.
