More homes have been evacuated in the North Island as forest fires intensified due to high temperatures. Fire crews responded to a blaze in Blairlogie near Masterton early in the morning, prompting evacuations on Adams Peak Rd. Although the fire, which measured around 200sqm, is now contained, residents are gradually returning. Additionally, two homes in Hawkes Bay were evacuated following a nearby vegetation fire.
