The Delegation of the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union, consisting of representatives from fifteen member countries, conducted a field mission to Cairo, Egypt and Port Sudan, Sudan from October 1 to 4, 2024. Led by H.E. Ambassador Mohamed Omar Gad, the Permanent Representative of Egypt to the African Union, the delegation aimed to assess the peace and security situation in the region. The mission included visits to various key locations and engagements with local authorities to gather information and insights for future action.
