Namibian Police major general Anne-Marie Nainda lost her bid to become Interpol’s vice president for Africa during the organisation’s 92nd general assembly in the UK. Valdecy Urquiza from Brazil was elected as the new secretary general, while Mohammed Dkhissi from Morocco became the new vice president for Africa. Despite the loss, Nainda will continue to represent Africa on Interpol’s executive committee.
