Afghanistan, sitting on three geological fault lines, recently experienced a devastating earthquake near Jalalabad that killed over 800 people, marking the third major quake in four years. The situation is exacerbated by significant cuts to foreign aid since the Taliban’s takeover, leading to widespread humanitarian crises, acute food insecurity, and the return of over two million displaced individuals amidst ongoing drought and poverty.
