Child Predator Suspect Remains in Custody

Ethan Mitch Burns-Dederer, a 27-year-old from Maryborough, faces nearly 600 charges for abusing hundreds of children globally through social media and gaming platforms. Police allege he used false identities to groom and coerce children, resulting in the identification of over 360 victims, including more than 200 in Australia. He has remained in custody since his arrest in February 2025, with his case adjourned to July for further proceedings. The ongoing investigation, part of Operation Xray Wick, has revealed a disturbing pattern of child exploitation.
