The writer of The Social Network, Aaron Sorkin, is set to return to Facebook’s narrative with the upcoming film The Social Reckoning. This sequel centers on Frances Haugen, portrayed by Mikey Madison, a young Facebook engineer who collaborates with Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz, played by Jeremy Allen White, to expose the company’s hidden secrets. While Mark Zuckerberg is part of the storyline, Jesse Eisenberg, who previously played the role, will not reprise his performance. After failing to convince Eisenberg to return, Sorkin cast Jeremy Strong, known for Succession, after Strong expressed interest in the role at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
