Magalli Meda and four other members of Venezuela’s opposition coalition have been confined in the Argentine embassy in Caracas for a year, fearing repression from the Venezuelan government. They are restricted to the embassy’s premises, unable to receive visitors and facing scarcity of water and electricity. Accused of crimes by the government, they believe they are being targeted for their opposition to President Nicolas Maduro, whom they accuse of human rights abuses.
