A Boston company’s 3D-printed harness is helping injured sea turtle swim

A Boston-based 3D printing company created a harness for a green sea turtle named Charlotte, who suffered from “bubble butt syndrome” due to a boat wound, enabling her to swim normally again. The harness, made with the help of Adia and New Balance Athletics, includes a weight system to adjust for the air bubble causing the tilting. Volunteers with 3D printing expertise are sought to replicate the design to assist more sea turtles with the same condition nationwide.
