Terrance Owens Elliott, a San Bernardino pastor and former city council candidate, was arrested for allegedly defrauding friends and a nonprofit of over $230,000. Representing himself as a city government official, Elliott convinced a friend to put inheritance money into a trust he controlled, using it for personal expenses and church payments. He also allegedly misled another friend into loaning trust money, never repaying it. If convicted, Elliott faces up to 20 years in federal prison for each of the 11 wire fraud charges.
