Australian host sorry for offensive remarks about women's football

Australian radio presenter Marty Sheargold has issued an apology for misogynistic and disrespectful comments he made about the national women’s football team, the Matildas, comparing them to “year 10 girls” and implying their matches were boring. The remarks, aired on Triple M, were condemned by Football Australia and led to criticism from Minister for Sport Anika Wells and Australian Olympian Ambrosia Malone. Sheargold’s parent company, Southern Cross Austereo, also apologized for the comments, which they stated do not align with their values.
