The third anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was marked by a UNGA resolution condemning the invasion and supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty, which passed with 93 countries in favor, 18 against, and 65 abstaining. The United States changed its vote from a “yes” to a “no,” impacting other countries in the Asia-Pacific region, with some shifting their support away from Ukraine. Despite some changes in voting patterns, the majority of U.S. allies in the region continued to back the resolution condemning Russia’s aggression.
