Rain, snow, and ‘anticyclonic gloom’ to see out weekend – but temperatures set to rise drastically

Temperatures are set to rise to as high as 14C next week after a period of gloomy rain and snow in the UK, with some areas not seeing the sun for over a week. Parts of East Anglia experienced snowfall over the weekend, with more expected in Scotland and the north of the UK on Monday and Tuesday. However, temperatures are predicted to reach 13C or 14C by mid-week, well above the usual February averages, bringing a noticeable shift in weather conditions.
