Labour MPs Andrew Gwynne and Oliver Ryan have been suspended by the party after posting offensive comments in a WhatsApp group, with Gwynne being sacked as a health minister for wishing harm on an elderly voter. Gwynne also made derogatory remarks about constituents and fellow councillors in the group. Ryan, who mocked a fellow Labour MP’s sexuality, lost the party whip and is facing police action. Former Labour minister Barry Gardiner has called for both MPs to resign from parliament, emphasizing the importance of basic respect for others and integrity in public and private personas.
