War-torn Lebanon forms its first government in over 2 years

Lebanon’s new Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has formed the country’s first full-fledged government since 2022, with a cabinet of 24 ministers evenly split between Christian and Muslim sects. The new government faces challenges such as rebuilding the southern region after the Israel-Hezbollah war, addressing the ongoing economic crisis, and improving ties with Gulf nations. Despite not being endorsed by Hezbollah, Salam aims to reform the judiciary and economy to bring stability to Lebanon.
