Poland is prepared to increase electricity exports to Ukraine if Slovakia cuts off backup power supplies, in response to threats from Prime Minister Fico. Fico’s energy threats, aimed at Ukraine due to gas transit issues, have been criticized by Ukrainian President Zelenskyy as potentially benefiting Russia and harming Slovakia economically. Zelenskyy called for European cooperation to enhance energy security and reduce reliance on Russian gas in the integrated European energy market.
