A suspect, 28-year-old Jason Sargeant, was arrested for a random stabbing spree at the Grand Central subway station in NYC on Christmas Eve, injuring a 26-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man. Sargeant allegedly slashed the man’s wrist during an argument on the stairs and then attacked the woman near a turnstile, leaving both victims in stable condition. He was charged with multiple counts including assault and possession of a weapon, following another recent subway attack where a woman was burned alive. Governor Kathy Hochul faced criticism for her subway safety remarks shortly after the incidents.
