After serving 25 years of a 30-year prison sentence in the U.S., legendary drug lord Fabio Ochoa has been deported back to Colombia, where he was met by immigration officials and reunited with his family in Bogota. Ochoa, a former member of the Medellin cartel and once included in Forbes Magazine’s list of billionaires, was convicted in the U.S. for drug smuggling and is known for his role in the global drug trade, as depicted in Netflix series. Despite his criminal past, authorities expect Ochoa to return home wealthy, as they were unable to seize all of the family’s illicit drug proceeds.
