The standards for carbon credits under Article 6.4 of the Paris Agreement were agreed upon, enhancing climate action and creating opportunities for Africa to participate in the carbon market. Labbate highlighted the potential benefits for Africa in terms of fair carbon prices, forest protection, and sustainable development, while also addressing concerns about potential negative impacts such as land grabbing and emissions maintenance by wealthy companies.
